Congratulations to Warren Keys of Richland Center for winning the ice cream naming contest! The featured flavor is cherry ice cream with a marshmallow swirl and chocolate chunks.

Enclosed please find the following Summary Special Orders:
Banning the movement of poultry to, or participation in, any swap meets or open shows in Wisconsin that are not held as part of a county, district, or state fair.
Prohibiting the movement of poultry to, or participation in, any county, district, or state fair, or open show or youth show held as part of a county, district, or state fair in Wisconsin, unless the exhibitor provides and the organizer obtains, reviews and maintains for one year, and makes available to the department all of the following information:
The exhibitor’s name, address, and phone number.
If the poultry were kept in Wisconsin, or a state utilizing the federal premises identification system, address and premises code number of the location at which the poultry were kept by the exhibitor. If the poultry were kept outside of Wisconsin in a state that does not use the federal premises identification system, the state-issued location identification number of the location at which the poultry were kept by the exhibitor.
Certification from the exhibitor that within 10 calendar days immediately prior to moving the poultry to the event there have been no poultry mortalities on the premises where the poultry were kept. Poultry moralities caused by intentional slaughter, predator or accident do not apply.
Also enclosed is a form that may be used to collect the information required under the second Summary Special Order.
These orders are issued in an effort to protect Wisconsin’s poultry health from the spread of the H5 avian influenza virus, a deadly, communicable virus among poultry.
Under s. ATCP 1.03 (3), Wis. Admin. Code, you may, within 30 days after this summary is served, request a hearing before the department to review the Summary Special Order. A request for hearing does not stay a Summary Special Order.

Fairest of the Fair applicants must be 18 years of age as of January 1st, 2016. Our Future Fairest must be ages 15-17 by January 1st, 2016 and Junior Fairest ages 12-14 by January 1st, 2016. All applicants must either be a resident of Richland County or member in good standing in a 4-H Club or FFA of Richland County are welcome to apply.
